I am in a relationship with a wonderful 40 year old man who does not have any children. His previous marriage resulted in two miscarriages. My previous marriage resulted in 2 children. I still menstruate regularly with a 26 day cycle and period that lasts 6-8 days. What are my chances of conceiving by natural means?

New comment from Dr. Q

Hi Janice,

Unfortunately, the odds are highly against you, and very few women around the world conceive on their own or even with the help of IVF. When women conceive at this age, it is through the use of donor eggs that would be fertilized with your partner's sperm and the resulting embryo transferred into your uterus for you to get pregnant and eventually deliver your guy's baby...Good luck, and keep us posted
