OMG, I feel so selfish right now!!!!!!!! I did not see this post until late tonight. I had no idea that you were in the hospital and now you are on even stricter bedrest. You had me in tears by reading about your dh. And that was so beautiful of the nurse to actually put her hands on your belly and pray for you and the girls. Just amazing. Just remember we are all thinking about you and praying like crazy! Big hugs!!!!

How far along are you? Do your girls share a sac and or placenta? When did you first start having contractions?

Uve been such an inspiration on here and ur experience is so heart wrenching, I will keep u in my prayers and pray the gurls stick in there much much much longer. Ur going to have a lovely baby shower way way before the gurls r born :) and u deserve to have lovely friends and family helping you out. My best wishes to u.

Shelly.. I am definitely praying for you. How many weeks are you now? I am praying those little girls stay in there longer! I wouldn't want to see them have to go the the NICU. Just keep doing all the resting you can!!!

I'm having some issues with this too.. also taking terbutaline for too many contractions. I'm 32 weeks.. dr wants him to stay in until 36.... but i'm not dilated or effacing yet....

I will keep saying extra prayers for you.. please keep us posted

Oow Shelly I am so sorry that you are goint thru this. I am continuely praying and thinking of you and you little ones. Im going to see my pastors today so I'll ask them to put you on the church prayer list....Follow the doc's orders and rest up. Shelly...you made me cry, too! I am blown away by your strength. Because of it, I know everything will be all right. It might be tough now, and you may have some tough days ahead, but I do have a good feeling for you.

I started to tear up thinking about your hubby touring the NICU and stuff.

Im wishing you the best and just dont do a thing! I know thats gotta be rough but just think when they are hear you will wish you were in bed at times...hehe.

sounds like you have a great nurse and hospital, that will help alot with the delivery and any time that you need to spend there.

I think about you guys very often and just know that you all will be a-ok and soon, but not to soon, you will be holding those little princesess in your arms.

Did you decide on 2 names for sure yet?

OMG, Shelly! That nurse is awesome! Yes the nicu is a scary scary place to be..but it honestly is the best place if needed. The nurses and docs know what they are doing. My ds was born 5 wks premature and we were their for 11 days , so I know first hand.

Will be praying for you and the princesses! (HUGS)

hi girls...well things are okay i guess - could be better but we just spent 3 days in the hospital. I am 50% effaced and 1 cm dilated. My contractions got really close and harder a few nights ago se we headed in. They immediately quit registering me in and got me terbutaline as quick as possible and an IV. I had three shots of terbutaline in 20 min. then every three hours from there. last night i had 12 contractions in an hour so they knocked me out. i woke up this morning to very minimal contractions. I am now at home of course on strict bedrest and with my terbutaline and ambien for night. it's amazing what the ambien (and pain meds) did for my contractions last night. i have strict orders for the terbutaline when contractions start coming on.

The doc thinks we can still make it much further in the pregnancy! i sure do hope so. even 3 more weeks would be ideal per the doc.

well the NICU people came down to talk to us and tell us what to expect, what they do when their born etc. they were so sweet. they took my dh on a tour of the NICU. he came back with tears in his eyes and told me not to do a thing we've got to keep these babies in.

Oh and one more amazing thing. our nurse who we had when we went for our UTI was our nurse again. we really like her - well at 3 in the morning she asked if she could pray for us- she placed her hands on my belly and said the most beautiful prayer. i could hear my dh sniffling from his bed. there are truly wonderful people = i just was so touched.

Update from lab tests - fFN Test - trying not to stres

Sooooo yesterday's appt went great and cervix tightly closed. i'm still having contractions every 5 min (typically sometimes further apart, sometimes less, sometimes stong and then other times not) so my doctor proceeded with a test called fFN (fetal fibronectin) in which they swab the placenta for a hormone the babies put off if they may deliver soon. a Negative result means you will NOT deliver in the next two weeks but a positive isn't a true positive. It means i could go into labor now or 2 weeks or 2 months - there's no definitive that i will truly go into labor right away BUT there still is that chance of preterm birth.

It just is a stressful thought - why couldn't it be negative and ease my mind. as if the contractions weren't enough. So i started steriod injections today and will take another tomorrow to help with the girls lung development. I'm so thankful that they will try to save the girls if we deliver now. Our hospital is a tier 3 NICU so i have all the faith in the world that these babies will be given great care.

I'm working hard at staying positive and not stressing for the girls. i'm glad to have the shots and get their lungs growing.

Please pray for my lil girls and I will continue to pray for each and everyone of you!!
