AMH or FSH

Ovarian follicles are what produce AMH.. The greater the number and health of follciles present, the higher the AMH (don't know what measuring system you lab uses).. The fewer follicles/health your ovaries have, the lower one's AMH will be.

One can always get an FSH, which is better? Not sure the data is quite clear on which is a better test... although many will postulate that an AMH is better, most all still check FSH values for ovarian reserve as it's "tried and true"

Since my value is in the middle of my labs normal range and I had a history of PCOS (which was identified using US before now I am on metformin and all my harmone levels came back within normal range no sign of PCOS) I am put on a very low dose. 112.5 gonal F for the first 6 days and 150 for the next 6 days. But I produced only 3 eggs and 10 follicles. Will I respond better with higher dosage of gonal F?

Hi IVFgal just wanted to wish you all the best for your next cycle. I may also be starting IVF. It does sound reasonable that if you are given a higher dose of gonal f that you should definetely produce more than three eggs. I guess with the first cycle of IVF it is a bit of a guessing game with the docs, They dont want to give you too much in case of OHSS, they may have underdosed you for your first cycle.
