Are there more sperm before or after insemination wash??

It's all on how you interpret the value...

60Million in 5 cc of semen wind up being 300Million sperm...Sometimes after the wash, the total sperm is counted on the basis of 0.5cc that is used for the IUI, which can also increase this value...but something to discuss with your lab...(all this math...urrgghh! lol)

Would you ever recommend doing 2 iui's? The reason I ask is because last month I had 1 iui and hubby's counts of motile sperm after washing was 38 million. We didnt get pregnant:( I had the insemination done the day of ovulation. This month we are going to do 2 iui's and I am wondering if I should have them the day before ovulation and the day of ovulation OR the day of ovulation and the day after ovulation? This subject is controversial, as doing 2 IUIs has never been shown to be clearly superior over a single IUI...

Doing them either day is Ok...but most prefer to do them, including myself, the day of ovulation...

Hey Keller... my doc said the same thing Dr. Q did, but I asked for two iui anyways. We did day b/f ov and day of ov.... won't know until Wed. if I'm prego (unless I break down and test)....wish me luck!
