thyroid medication

January 18, 2008

I'm having my thyroid checked because there are things happening that I think shouldn't be. My skin is so dry that no amount of water I drink is relieving it. My hair and nails are dry and brittle and my belly is so big that I had to go up a size, even though I still weigh the same. I don't think it's menopause yet, because I'm not having any other symptoms other than the infertility. My question is this: if I should have to go on thyroid medicine, will it destroy my ability/chances of conceiving?

absolutely not Weyr,

many women conceive without any problems or any affects while being on Thyroid medications...just have to be monitored throughout pregnancy to maintain good thyroid control...

Thank you, Dr. Q!! I was very worried..I think I'm going through enough without this on top of it.

I had my thyroid check and its normal, according to my doctor.

I think AF is coming. I've been under some really severe stress and I believe it'll throw my period off. I was due today and I haven't started spotting yet. I took a pregnancy test and got a BFN.

I'm losing hope.
