I am 37 and my dh is 41. We have been ttc on and off for approximately 6 years without medical assistance.

My husband had a semen analysis and he is good to go. We were concerned that he was "the problem" since he is a cancer survivor...after major surgery and having chemotherapy for a whole year!

So...it was my turn to start testing! YUK!

I was diagnosed as having PCOS and am insulin resistant. I was put on 1500 mg per day of Metformin and my levels are so much better now! The blood tests confirmed that I had not been ovulating even though OPK's were coming out positive and my bbt would rise. Talk about confusing!!! UGH!

The first test I was sent for was an transvaginal ultrasound. No big deal. The results showed nothing wrong.

The second test I had was an HSG. Not so fun! The results showed that I had a fibroid in my uterus that my doctor felt was probably causing my infertility due to its location inside of my uterus. My doctor recommended surgery and I just had surgery today. (hysteroscopy with resection)

Well, when my doctor got to my uterus, she found that it was filled with several polyps and my uterus was completely blocked, so there was no way I could get pregnant. What the heck? I do not understand why neither the transvaginal ultrasound nor the HSG showed all of these polyps or my uterus being completely blocked. Oh well, they are all gone now! YAY! :)

My doctor is going to start me on Clomid after my uterus has recovered...30 days. Stinks that I will probably have to wait to start Clomid until my February cycle! (I had to stop ttc November, December and now January! I am unrealistically impatient! LOL!)

Luckily my doctor will prescribe me Clomid for 6 months. I will have blood tests on cd 21 to confirm ovulation each month. If no pregnancy in 6 months, then I will have to go to an RE to see about IUI.

Hopefully, my next update will be a BFP!
