Infertility b4 im even 20
November 05, 2008
My name is Laura and dont be shocked when i tell u guys this but i have been married since i was 16. Well after graduating high school and startin college at 17, my husband and I decided we wanted to ttc. I had been diagnosed with PCOS when I was 12 so I knew it would be diffuclt road. I started metformin and tracking ovulation and 2 months later I got my first BFP sadly I m/c at 8 weeks so we kept tryin for thanksgiving of last year, I got my second BFP, i was so happy, I followed all the directions my doctor gave me and everything seemed to be goin well. At 9 weeks i got a u/s where my doctor told me she saw 2 sacs!! I cried like a baby...lol so i did everything as she said, sadly at 12 weeks i miscarried again. It is now going to be a year since my last m/c and no luck. Im still on metformin but i have the luck that a lot of doctors tend to discourage my attempts of wanting to conceive stating that I am too young. I just really dont know who else to turn to for advice as no one in my family other that my dh understands the struggle. I hope i can get some support here. Thanks and tons of ***BABY DUST***!!!

Hi Brittany! Welcome and i hope you find all the answers you need to help you with ttc. I think that it is easy for other people to think that 20 is too young but if your dh and you are ready then you should find a doctor that will work with you towards your goal. You should know that they probably will be less aggressive at your age than with someone who is 35 for example, but you should feel that you are being taken seriously and your concerns are being addressed. Where do you live? Maybe some of the girls can recommend a doctor for you.
I'm 22 and my doctors are refusing to help me too. However, I am also overweight. It's so frustrating when they can't see past your age... I mean, come on! You've been married since you were 16, so what the heck?!?
Totally feel your pain. Hang in there... Have they ever checked your progesterone levels?

I'm 22 also and also overweight and my doctor seems to have no problem helping me out. I know my husband is older (31) so maybe that's a factor. On 10/30 I got my HSG test done and whenever my AF arrives I'm starting Clomid to see if that helps out anything. I'm crossing my fingers! Babydust to you all!
goodluck happy eith the clomid i hope u get your BFP...yea wannabe they checked all my levels but that was before i got pregnant the last time and they said everything was normal. I too am overweight but not that much, but ive lost a little bit of weight. the doctor says other than my pcos i shouldnt have any other reason why i cant get pregnant, which sucks cause my sister is fertile myrtle and she is extremely overweight, not that that is a bad thing but my sister gets pregnant just by sayin i want a baby yet me and my husband cant have a 9 month baby for nothin. but I kno it will happen soon enought so babydust to all and hopefully we will all have 09 babies if not 10 babies..lol thanks natasha lots of babydust to u too
I almost cried when my sister told me the same thing recently. Wow... we are so alike. Hang in there and keep faith. It WILL happen for us both, I just know it! Plus, now you have tons of new friends (including me) here at FertilityTies and we will help you through this. That's what friends are for.
:)

yea i love it i feel so alone in my family since everyone on my family got pregnant easily. My grandmother got preggo a month after she got married my mom got preggo 2 months after she married my sisters father my sister the same. I'm like the only one who doesnt get pregnant. It's nice not to feel alone well if u want I can give u my email and we can talk more. It's nice to meet someone like me..lol Are you on any meds right now?
Send me a message with your e-mail address in it and we can be e-mail friends too... do you have a Myspace?
I'm in the same situation as you... no one understands what I'm going through outside of this computer. It's hard feeling like you are the only one with problems getting pregnant, but this website has really helped me with that... I know know that there are others like me. Loving and supportive others like me. :)
I'm on Provera right now to start my period (for the first time every, I missed AF this cycle, but I'm not pregnant) and then I'm going to be taking 100 MG Clomid CD 3-7. It'll be my first time every taking fertility meds and I'm happy, excited, nervous!!
What is your doctor doing to help you get pregnant? Nothing? Mine wouldn't do anything either... that's why I took matters into my own hands.
