The beginning of my journey

July 11, 2008

Hi I'm Tifa. I'm 23 years old. I've been married since 9/1/07 and have been trying since then to get pregnant naturally. I've never been on any birth control so there's no problem there. I have to admit I didn't know much about fertility when I started out way back when because I thought Oh it will happen really quick..I never thought I would have any anxiety over getting pregnant. I was way wrong...I am just now beginning to take herbal supplements in hopes of regulating my cycle. I know everyone is gonna say go see a doc...but its not that easy...my husband doesn't wanna see one until at least we have tried a year. He is 35 and scared that he is the one with the problem. Well I know we both want a baby but how can I convince him that we both need to see a doc? Until I have achieved motherhood I am going to relentlessly badger him til he gets the idea that I want to be a mom NOW!!!

It is really important that you and your husband are in this together or you will never be able to deal with the stress of trying to get pregnant. My husband was tested and it was a weight off his shoulders to find out that he wasn't the problem. Male infertility is not as common and it can be easy to treat. Explain to your husband that it is causing you stress not knowing why you have not gotten pregnant and let him know that you will feel better when you know for sure it is not him. Even if the problem was related to him it is impossible for it to be treated if no one knows about it. Don't lose hope, it will happen when the time is right. In the meantime make sure that you are charting properly and consider getting some ovulation predictors (I get mine off the internet for cheep... try "early pregnancy tests" an online company.
